When and where will the mapping car be in 2026? By cities and regions

In 2026, both Google and Apple will be touring Hungary. According to Google’s own schedule, they will be collecting footage between 19th March and 3rd November 2026 – meaning they are on the road now – while Apple surveyed the country for its Look Around service between 7th April and 21st May. Below, by region and county, based on official sources.

Google Street View 2026 – by county

Google does not publish the names of settlements; the schedule is provided at region and county level. The 2026 period for Hungary is the same everywhere: 19th March – 3rd November.

  • Central Hungary: Budapest, Pest county
  • Central Transdanubia: Fejér, Komárom-Esztergom, Veszprém county
  • Western Transdanubia: Győr-Moson-Sopron, Vas, Zala county
  • Southern Transdanubia: Baranya, Somogy, Tolna county
  • Northern Hungary: Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Heves, Nógrád county
  • Northern Great Plain: Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county
  • Southern Great Plain: Bács-Kiskun, Csongrád-Csanád, Békés county

According to the press release, the tour will cover more than fifty settlements. Google does not publish the full list at settlement level – the official schedule is available at county level – but these cities were mentioned by name in the press:

  • Budapest
  • Debrecen
  • Kecskemét
  • Pécs
  • Veszprém
  • Siófok
  • Zalaegerszeg
  • Nagykanizsa
  • Keszthely
  • Kaposvár

The names of the other settlements are not public, but the county breakdown above is clear: if your county is on the list, your street view may also be updated this year. After larger cities, Google typically also covers surrounding smaller settlements.

Apple Look Around 2026 – by region

Apple publishes where its cars are travelling by region in its survey calendar. The Hungarian wave took place between 7th April and 21st May, and covered all regions:

  • Budapest and Pest county
  • Central Transdanubia: Fejér, Komárom-Esztergom, Veszprém
  • Western Transdanubia: Győr-Moson-Sopron, Vas, Zala
  • Southern Transdanubia: Baranya, Somogy, Tolna
  • Northern Hungary: Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Heves, Nógrád
  • Northern Great Plain: Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg
  • Southern Great Plain: Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád-Csanád

When will the footage be visible?

Typically, a few months pass between photography and publication: images taken in spring appear in the second half of the year, while summer-autumn rounds will be uploaded next year. This means the image of your street could be updated in any month.

What does this mean for your business?

The street view shows where you are, but not what’s behind the door. Guests decide on their phone: if they only see a facade, they feel a risk; if they can walk around the room, surgery, or showroom, they are more confident.

  • Check your street frontage on the Map: can you see your company sign, entrance, and opening hours?
  • Update your business profile: data, categories, opening hours, fresh photos.
  • Get an interior tour: the 360° tour will be added to your business profile, where guests are looking.
  • Embed it on your website and share it: the same work serves two purposes.

An interior tour is created once, does not expire, and remains on Google Maps for years. If you would like to know how many points would make your place well explorable, give us a call.
